Academically, we use a workshop model for reading, writing, and math instruction. All instruction is standards-based. In reading, we work on improving fluency and comprehension. In writing, we teach four genres: personal narrative, procedures, informational writing, and response to literature. In math, we focus on number sense, addition and subtraction concepts, shapes and measurement, and problem solving strategies.
