Dear Parents and Guardians:
Happy New Year and welcome to 2009! I hope you enjoyed your family and friends during the winter break. We begin the year refreshed and ready to get back into the routine of school and the privilege of learning.
With all of the winter gear, the lost and found area is filling up quickly. If you are in the building, please be sure to stop by and check for any items your child(ren) may be missing. If your child is missing boots, snow pants, mittens, etc…, please ask them to check the lost and found located near the entrance to the cafeteria.
Do you know a Saint Paul resident who will be 4 by September 1st? If so, the child may be eligible to participate in the free Pre-K program. Registrations are due on March 6th. Please contact Jane in the office for more information.
All children, including those who will be 5 by September 1st and who will be attending kindergarten, must register with Saint Paul Public Schools by March 6th; the registration deadline. An application may be obtained from the office at John A. Johnson. Parents and guardians are welcome to submit completed applications to our school office; we will happily deliver them to the Saint Paul Public Schools Placement Office for you.
Parking Lot
Please be mindful of homeowners’ driveways and not blocking other cars in should you chose to park your vehicle to get your child from inside the school. Please note that it is illegal to leave your running car unattended; a driver who chooses to do so may be ticketed by the SPPD. On numerous occasions, cars have blocked the area resulting in an impossible situation for the bus drivers to get their busses remotely close to the curb. Clearly, this also presents a safety issue for the students. Thank you for you cooperation.
Patrol News!
Our school safety patrols now have a new morning time. They will be at their corners to cross kids from 7:40 a.m.-7:50 a.m.. The change was necessary to better meet the needs of our students. There will also be a new patrol supervisor Alicia Decker, beginning February! Please direct any questions about patrols to after that time.
